Leslie has a background in organizational development, fundraising, and grant writing. She is currently based in Charleston, South Carolina, where she has a portfolio of nonprofit clients from across the country. Her professional career has included leading a US-based nonprofit improving health in rural Uganda as Executive Director, working in individual and institutional fundraising and supporting the donor travel program at PATH, and growing the fundraising department at Teach For America South Carolina. She is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Malawi and Uganda, where she built the capacity of community-based organizations and implemented several economic development and health projects for orphans and people living with HIV/AIDS. Leslie wrote her first grant by hand in a small village in Malawi and then traveled by bus for four hours to type and submit the application. That award hooked her on connecting the right funder with the right project and institutional fundraising has been at the center of her career ever since. She has a Master of Public Administration and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Washington.
